SHAPE OF ORBITALS

There are four types of orbitals, known as s, p, d and f orbitals.

s orbitals
s orbitals are spherical in shape
p orbitals
p orbitals are shaped like dumb-bells.

 d orbitals
d orbitals are shaped like cloverleaf.
